The purpose of the Responsible Care^® Product Stewardship Code of Management Practices is to make health, safety and environmental protection an integral part of design, manufacture, marketing, distribu- tion, use, recycling and disposition of chemical products.

During 1998, Sunoco Chemicals personnel began distributing CHEMTREC emergency response cards to suppliers and customers. The card is designed to be a readily available resource (i.e., placed next to the telephone, posted on bulletin  boards, etc.) in the event of an emergency involving chemicals.
