Sunoco Brings National Chemistry Week
To Elementary Students
PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 18, 2004—Sunoco, Inc.'s Chemicals division will
participate in this year's National Chemistry Week's (NCW) celebration
with a community-unifying event benefiting the students of Cornell
Elementary School in Pittsburgh, PA; St. John Cantius and Bridesburg
Elementary in Philadelphia, PA; and Marcus Hook Elementary in Marcus
Hook, PA—all locations where the organization operates its
facilities.
This year's theme
is "Health and Wellness" and the program includes Sunoco's bike safety
tips and a presentation by Science Explorers, a Downingtown, PA-based
science company dedicated to providing an opportunity for children to
become engaged in the world of science. The fun, dynamic and interactive
program will highlight subjects like healthy hearing, nutrition and the
body.
"We are really excited
to have Sunoco and Science Explorers come to present this program, and we
will welcome them with open arms," stated Dr. Erv Weischedel, Principal,
Cornell Elementary.
Representatives from Sunoco
and Science Explorers will take their educational program on the road bringing
the message of good chemistry, good health and overall wellness to students
